Tasting Options

During the booking process, you can choose which tasting best fits your tastes and preferences. All activities start at the time indicated in Ptge. de Simó in Barcelona. Here's what each tasting involves:

Ibérica Tasting (30 Minutes)

At the time indicated, we'll enjoy a delicious Iberian Ham tasting. Are you ready to discover the most traditional and delicious flavors from the Catalan capital? We hope you're hungry!

Upon entering the bar, we'll take our seats and start this marvellous Iberian ham tasting in Barcelona. During the activity, we'll take you on a Spanish cuisine cultural journey. You'll try two different types of ham: Gran Reserva and 50% Ibérico de Cebo, discovering their flavors and characteristic textures. The tasting will be accompanied by a glass of cava, wine, beer, or a soft drink, depending on your preference, and breadsticks.

As you taste these delicacies, the waiters who will serve each dish will explain everything you need to know about the ham and the different products at the tasting. All of this will take place in a friendly and authentic environment, just a few feet away from the Sagrada Familia.

After a 30-minute-long tasting, we'll say our goodbyes and, if you're still hungry, you can continue tasting other products on your own.

Premium Tasting (1 Hour)

If you're looking for the most complete option, don't miss the Premium tasting. You enjoy a delicious menu composed of 4 types of excellent quality ham, from Gran Reserva to jamón ibérico de cebo, as well as the refined Pata Negra and the ibérico de Campo. All of these hams will be accompanied by breadsticks to enhance the flavor of each slice.

During this 1-hour Premium tasting, an expert ham slicer will guide you step by step to discover the aroma, texture, and flavor that differentiates each variety. You'll learn how to identify the fat infiltration level, the characteristic shine of Iberian ham, and its intensity. This varies depending on the pig breed, its diet, and the curation time. It's an art!

Did you know Iberian bellota ham can be cured for over 36 months, and its flavor changes depending on the pasture where the pig is raised? You'll discover fascinating facts about one of Spain's largest gastronomic treasures!

Additionally, you'll accompany this activity with a glass of cava, wine, beer, or a soft drink. Cheers!

Masterclass (1.5 Hours)

Do you want a different tasting experience? Well, this is an excellent option! Get ready for a total immersion in the world of ham.

In this masterclass, your senses will be essential. During the 1.5-hour tasting, you'll have the opportunity to try seven different types and qualities of Iberian ham, from the smoothest and sweetest to the most flavorsome and intense. You'll try Gran Reserva, the prestigious Ibérico Bellota 100%, Ibérico Cebo 50%, and Ibérico Campo 50%.

The waiters will also explain the importance of carving, curation methods, and the influence of the pig's diet on each type of ham.

But that's not all! The masterclass also includes breadsticks and carefully selected wine and cava that go splendidly with each of the hams. You'll end this experience being true experts in the field!

Masterplus (1.5 hours)

If you're looking for the most comprehensive option, this guided tasting led by a master ham expert is for you. During the experience, you’ll taste 7 types of ham: Gran Reserva, 50% Iberian cebo ham, 50% Iberian free-range cebo ham, two 50% Iberian acorn-fed hams, 50% Iberian acorn-fed ham cubes, and the unparalleled 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham.

In addition, this option includes a tasting of 3 types of Spanish cheese, ranging from the mild Mató, to the semi-hard Catalan Garrotxa to the stronger Ronkari. To round out the experience, you’ll pair these exquisite Spanish products with a selection of Spanish white and red wines and cavas, accompanied by breadsticks. Every bite will make your mouth water!
